Artist Bio

Cody Hudson (b. 1971) is a Chicago-based artist whose
multidisciplinary work spans graphic design, painting,
sculpture, and large-scale installations. Under the name
Struggle Inc., his art has been exhibited internationally at
venues like the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), V1
Gallery (Copenhagen), Joshua Liner Gallery (New York),
David B. Smith (Denver) and Somerset House (London).
Hudson’s work explores shapes, symbols, and forms
that evoke both the natural world and a mysterious visual
space. His compositions are marked by a pursuit of perfect
imperfection, always retaining the touch of the human hand.
This ethos runs through his diverse body of work, including
paintings, sculptures, prints, site-specific installations,
murals, and even record sleeves.
Originally from Wisconsin, Hudson’s practice reflects a
relentless curiosity and a desire to expand his creative toolkit.
Recent projects include a solo show at David B. Smith Gallery
(Colorado), a group exhibition at Somerset House (London),
and an installation at Fool’s Gold Records (Brooklyn).
In addition to his visual art, Hudson is a partner at Land
and Sea Department, a project development studio behind
several iconic Chicago restaurants and bars, and at Letherbee
Distillers. His fashion collaborations include work with Nike
and Jordan Brand, notably contributing to the Chicago 8×8
project, commemorated by a large-scale sculpture displayed
at Notre in Chicago’s West Loop.
