Artist Bio

Isolina Minjeong (b. 1997) and Keya Tama (b. 1997), a
South African artist, are both based in New York City, and
along with each of their solo practices, are also a dynamic
duo whose collaborative practice merges their distinct artistic
visions.
Keya Tama explores the contrast between ancient
iconographies and modern folklore in his work. His murals,
characterized by recurring motifs of people, animals, and
nature, weave narratives that bridge the past with the future,
offering a rich tapestry of cultural and historical commentary.
Isolina Minjeong, based in Brooklyn, NY, earned her
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the Maryland Institute
College of Art. Her work has been showcased at notable
events such as NADA Miami (2023), the Spring/Break Art
Show (2022), and the Tchotchke Gallery (2022). Her practice
in ceramics, alongside her work in tapestries and painting,
brings a nuanced perspective to their dynamic.
Together, Minjeong and Tama create a unique collaborative
language through a blend of tapestries, paintings, muralism,
and ceramic sculptures. Their combined efforts reflect a
shared commitment to reinterpreting art history and exploring
new dimensions of artistic expression. Their work not only
showcases their individual strengths but also underscores
their mutual support and creative synergy, as they protect
each other’s artistic vision and emotional well-being.
