Artist Bio

Ilse Valfré (b. 1987), known simply as Valfré, is a Mexican

contemporary artist celebrated for her colorful, whimsical, and

surreal artworks. Her distinctive style features bold lines, vibrant

colors, and unique female characters, often blending elements

of pop culture, fashion, and fantasy. Valfré’s work is a playful

exploration of creativity, individuality, and the boundless power of

imagination.

Born and raised in Playas De Tijuana, a border town where

the U.S. and Mexican border meets the Pacific Ocean, Valfré’s

unique perspective is deeply rooted in her upbringing at the

intersection of two cultures. From a young age, drawing became

her sanctuary—a way to craft her own narrative and escape into

imaginative worlds.

In 2013, she launched her brand, Valfré, with the mission to

create products that reflect the vibrant, psychedelic universe

she has envisioned. Embracing the internet as her gallery, Valfré

seamlessly navigates various mediums, including illustrations,

paintings, collectible figures, sculptures, and textiles. Her work

has garnered attention from major publications like Forbes, BBC,

MTV, NBC, Flaunt, and Paste Magazine.

Ilse Valfré currently divides her time between Nayarit, Mexico,

and Los Angeles, California, continuing to push the boundaries of

her creative expression across multiple platforms.
