Artist Statement

I find beauty in abandoned places.
I am drawn to architecture often dilapidated, run down or lost.
I am drawn to the simple beauty of geometric shapes created by light and shadows.
I like the contrast of nature and architecture, the contrast of colors and textures, hard and soft, of past and present, living and dead.
I like the fish eye perspective that photography can lend to a simple structure and how that combined with the scale of the pieces can draw the viewer in. By mixing the photography with painting I can sharpen or soften as I wish to create a strange illusion of real and unreal.
