Roger Reutimann
Artist Statement
I am a multi-disciplinary artist working in a wide range of mediums, styles, and materials. My paintings and sculptures are inspired by popular culture and the human condition. I strongly believe that making an emotional connection is essential for art to become meaningful. I am always striving to find new and innovative techniques to transform contemporary materials into present-day unique works of art.
Artist Bio
Being born and raised in Switzerland, artist Roger Reutimann has lived a varied and creative life since childhood. As a multi-disciplinary artist, he is mostly self-taught with an insatiable desire for knowledge and skills in the field of the arts and popular culture. He earned his MA in economics from AKAD College Zurich and holds a degree from Music School Zurich Conservatory. He graduated from the Culinary Institute Belvoirpark Zurich and further designed and produced limited edition collections of hand-crafted light fixtures for his own design company Ocean Drive. Later he worked for Art Basel, then for five years organized art exhibitions for FORUM International Art Fairs in Zurich,
Hamburg, and Dusseldorf, where he held the position of COO. In 1996 he moved to Miami Beach where he designed and hand-crafted an extravagant Miami Beach villa, which was published in Architectural Digest magazine. Simultaneously, he continued studying painting and sculpture. In 2008 he became a full-time artist, using his unique background and skills to create innovative and original works of art.
